Sumatra Copper & Gold plc (ASX:SUM) is an established gold and silver producer with a suite of highly prospective tenements in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia within a world-class epithermal gold province with historic gold production in excess of 3 million ounces. The Company was established in the United Kingdom in 2006 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 2009 under the code SUM.
The Company's flagship Tembang Gold-Silver Mine commenced production ahead of schedule in August 2015. The Company is targeting annual production in the range of 40,000 to 50,000 gold equivalent (AuEq) ounces per annum (life-of-mine average of 33,000 oz Au and 345,000 oz Ag) with forecast a C1 cash cost of US$525/oz and AISC of US$800/oz net of silver credits for the first 3 years of operation.
The Company's strategy has been to define sufficient Ore Reserves to finance the mine development and then grow the mine life through ongoing evaluation of its significant project portfolio encompassing numerous advanced-stage resource targets and greenfields opportunities.
