Warwick George Morris BSc (Hons), MSc, MAusIMM 

Non-Executive Chairman

Warwick Morris is an Australian national who was appointed to the Board of Sumatra Copper & Gold as a non executive Director in March 2008. Mr Morris graduated from Sydney University with a degree in Geology and a Master of Science in Geochemistry Research. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and has more than 30 years experience in the resources industry.

Mr Morris has most recently served as an executive director of Macquarie Bank Ltd, where he has been both Chairman of the Metals and Energy Capital Division and head of Metals and Mining. Mr Morris has also held a directorship with Wine Planet Holdings Ltd, and was manager of the Mining Division of Minproc Engineers.

 

Jocelyn Severyn de Warrenne Waller MA (Hons) (Cantab)

Managing Director

Jocelyn Waller is a British national and co-founder who was appointed to the Board of Sumatra Copper & Gold in April 2006. Mr Waller graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge with a Master of Arts in History and has since spent his entire career in the mining industry.

His most recent listed company experience was as CEO (until 2005) of Trans Siberian Gold plc, an AIM-listed Russian gold mining business which Mr Waller established in 2000. He currently also serves as a non-executive director of RusAnt Ltd, an unlisted company that is developing an antimony mining project in Siberia.

Until 1988 he worked for Charter Consolidated plc and had assignments in Malaysia, Thailand, the Congo, UK and Portugal. From 1989 to 2000 he was chief executive of Avocet Mining and was responsible for bringing Avocet’s flagship mine, Pengon in Malaysia, into production.

 

Lord Daresbury MA (Hons) (Cantab)

Non-Executive Director

Peter Daresbury is a British national who was appointed as a non-executive Director of Sumatra Copper & Gold in July 2007. Peter Daresbury graduated from Cambridge University with a Master of Arts (Hons) in History, and later graduated from the London Business School following an executive management program.

Peter Daresbury has served as a CEO and Director on multiple publicly listed companies in the past. His recent mining sector experience includes being executive and non-executive Chairman of Highland Gold Mining and KazakhGold Group respectively. Current directorships include non-executive director of Mallett plc and nonexecutive Chairman of Nasstar plc and of Aintree Racecourse Company Limited.

 

Dr Michael Allan Price CEng, FEANI, BSc, Phd (Mining Engineering)

Non-Executive Director

Michael Price is a British national who was appointed as a non-executive Director of Sumatra Copper & Gold in July 2007. Dr Pricequalified with a PhD from the University of Cardiff and has over 30 years of mining and mining finance experience.

Dr Price gained financial institution experience at Rothschild, Societe Generale and Barclays Capital. He is currently a consultant and advisor to Resource Capital Funds, a resource-focused private equity fund.

Additionally, Dr Price has extensive Board experience having been a non-executive director of Monterrico Metals plc, Crew Gold Corp. and Tertiary Minerals.

 

Richard James Edwards BComm, CPA, A Fin

CFO and Company Secretary

Richard Edwards graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales and is a member of CPA Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia.

Following eight years as an owner/manager of his own business, Mr Edwards has worked for the past seven years providing financial reporting and company secretarial services to a range of publicly listed companies in the mining, health care and leisure industries.  He is currently CFO and Company Secretary of ASX Listed Callabonna Uranium Limited.

Adi Sjoekri Bsc Msc, MBA (Management)  
Manager External & Governmental Relations
Adi Sjoekri is an Indonesian National and graduated with degree and a Master of Science in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines in the U.S.A. He completed his further education with an MBA in management at Monash University in Jakarta.  
Adi has over years 17 experience working for major companies such as CSR and Newmont throughout Indonesia and more recently as a successful, consultant to the mining industry. He has been instrumental in recognising the opportunity to pick up tenements in Indonesia in 2006 and is a founder of the company.
Matthew Charles Farmer BSc, MAusIMM
Exploration Manager
Matthew Farmer is a British National and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Auckland New Zealand. Matthew is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Society of Economic Geologists (USA).
Matthew has over 27 years experience in exploration and mining mostly focused in South East Asia. His experience spans a mix of major and junior companies including BP Minerals, Newmont, and more recently Tiberon Minerals and Triple Plate Junction.
Ahilan Thiyagarajah BE (Hons)
Mine Development Manager
Ahilan Thiyagarajah is a Malaysian national who was appointed as Mine Development Manager in August 2008. He graduated from Kothagudem School of Mines, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India with first class honours in Mining Engineering.

Ahilan has over 15 years experience in the mining industry in Malaysia. He served as Mine Superintendent and Mining Manager of Avocet Mining, responsible for the mine development and mine production of its flagship goldmine in Penjom, Malaysia.

Vijayan G Nair
Financial Controller
Vijayan G Nair was appointed as a Financial Controller of Sumatra Copper and Gold Indonesian Operations in May 2009. He is an accountant with more than 20 years experience in the mining and exploration industry.
Vijayan has broad experience with finance and administrative functions with a number of successful companies including Avocet Mining plc. He has also been involved in financial reporting procedures at most of the major stock exchanges including AIMS, TSX, & ASX. He has worked in many countries including Malaysia, Tajikistan, Armenia, Portugal and also Papua New Guinea. Prior to that, he served as a Tax consultant with Ernst & Young.

Dibiansyah Hamid BSc
Chief Geologist
Dibiansyah Hamid is an Indonesian national and graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) with a degree in Geology.  Dibiansyah has more than twenty years experience specialising in gold and base metal mineral exploration throughout Indonesia.
He began his career with Rio Tinto involved in exploration and project generation throughout Indonesia. He has worked in senior positions for a number of major companies on world class mineral districts Freeport (Grasberg-Ertzberg), North Exploration and Newmont (Batu Hijau).  Dibiansyah blends a strong technical background on porphyry and epithermal systems with extensive experience in operations and project management.

David Stock BSc (Hons) Geology, MAusIMM, FGS
Consulting Resource Geologist
David Stock, a British national with 30 years experience in exploration and mining, joined Sumatra Copper and Gold in April 2007.
A graduate of Kingston Polytechnic, London, with an honours degree in Geology, he began his career with Anglo American/De Beers in South Africa and Namibia. He has subsequently worked on gold projects in Ghana, Tanzania, Malaysia and Russia. In recent years he has specialised in resource evaluation and has been instrumental in guiding the development drilling programs at Tembang.
Steve Garwin BSc, MSc, PhD (distinction), MAusIMM, FSEG
Consulting Geologist
Steve Garwin is an American National who obtained his B.S. from Stanford in 1984 and M.Sc. from the University of British Columbia in 1987, both degrees in the field of geology. He was awarded a Ph.D. in geology (with distinction) in 2000 from the University of Western Australia.
Steve blends a distinguished academic background with more than 22 years experience as an exploration geologist with large and small mining companies working in SE Asia, China, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, western USA, British Columbia, Mexico, Peru and Chile. He worked with Newmont Mining for ten years, including two years as chief geologist – Nevada.
He has extensive knowledge of porphyry, epithermal and Carlin like-systems and applies methods of structural geology and geochemistry towards gold and base-metals exploration. He has been involved in several successful exploration and mining projects, which include the Batu Hijau porphyry deposit, the Indo Muro epithermal vein system and the Mesel sediment-hosted deposit in Indonesia; mines of the Carlin trend and Battle Mountain district in Nevada; and the Whistler porphyry deposit in Alaska. Steve is an independent consultant based in Perth, Australia. He has been an adjunct research fellow at the Centre for Exploration Targeting at the University of Western Australia since 2001.
